Sycamore Ice Skating Club is celebrating a fantastic year of skating with its annual New Year’s Eve party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Perry Park. Club members who have purchased an ice package for the season for Wednesdays, Saturdays or Junior Club can skate for free. Admission for guests is $5 per skater or up to $15 per family. Skate rental is available for free! A volunteer will be at the club table to collect admission. Feel free to bring snacks and holiday leftovers to share. The Pop Weaver Youth Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds has added freestyle sessions over the holidays. Monday, Dec. 21: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23: 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31: 5 to 7 p.m. Each hour-long freestyle session costs $12. Skaters must pay with cash or card at the skate rental window before getting on the ice. The recently remodeled ice rink rink in Fishers, now called the Fuel Tank at Fishers, is offering a free skating day on Saturday, Dec. 26, which includes free public sessions, freestyle sessions and an exhibition. The rink has invited Sycamore Ice Skating Club skaters to participate. Free freestyle sessions are from 3 to 3:45 p.m. and 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 26. The exhibition is scheduled to take place from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. that day. If your skater would like to participate in the exhibition, please notify your coach by Tuesday, Dec. 15. This is a great opportunity to practice performing your program for upcoming competitions. The rink also plans to draw a winning raffle ticket at 5 p.m. for freestyle sessions at the Fuel Tank at Fishers for 2016. The winner must be present to win. See the full schedule...
